Jup Brown is currently running the length of New Zealand to fund raise money for people who have suffered from a stroke. He visited us on his Milton to Dunedin leg on Monday and the whole school showed their support by running two laps around the field with him. Their was great excitment when TV1s Close Up team arrived and filmed us. This will air some time this week. We wish Jup all the best for the rest of his journey.

Based on Scooby Doo their was ghosts, witches and mummies and of course the Scooby Doo team dancing around on stage. The children had a wonderful time and they looked fantastic on stage. History Trip
On a cool Dunedin day we bused to town to extend our knowledge about early Otago History as part of our inquiry. We visited the Otago Settlers Museum and completed an orienteering course around the streets of Dunedin.
During the orienteering we were divided into small groups and given a map to locate various historical buildings around Dunedin and find answers to our questions.
At the museum Sara talked to us about the early settlers and we dressed up in olden day clothes and acted out parts of the long journey they experience on the migrant ships. We also visited the Chinese Gardens which celebrates the importance of Chinese migrants in Otago's history.
We had a great day and learnt heaps about early Dunedin and our settlers. Thanks to our wonderful parent helpers.

Geometry Race

This term we inquired into Geometry. We swapped classes for maths and learnt about transformation, mapping/direction and shape. After learning about these aspects of geometry we were put into teams for the 'Amazing Geometry Race'. To win the race we had to work as a team to complete a four geometry activities.
DARE Fun Day
Yesterday was our DARE Fun Day. This day was a celebration of our learning during our DARE unit with Constable Greer and a really fun way to finish the term. The day started with a great demonstration from two members of the Police Dog Team. We then hopped on the bus and headed to Dunedin for an action packed day during which we went to the Action Games Indoor Centre and Lazer Force. We had an awesome day!
